WHY DO WE EXIST?
As human beings (not human doers), we spend the majority of our time at work and we want it to count! We want to work effectively with other team members, we want to express our ideas, we want to fulfill our purpose in life and as employees, be apart of contributing to our community & society. It sounds easy but it is not...
There's something funky that happens when more than three people are put together on a team...the brain starts to stir and old, really old, protection mechanisms and behaviors start to stir. The simplest of actions take forever, if they get done at all. People get defensive, pick sides and silo behavior and results are born. It's almost predictable. Why?
Over the last fifteen years, new discoveries in Neuroscience have started to explain why certain behaviors are predictable and why transformation efforts are unsurprisingly laborious, tedious and not as successful as they should be after all these years? Interestingly enough, it all points to our brains!!
Right now, leaders (at all levels) are working very hard to deliver on business commitments. It often looks and feels like driving up a hill in the wrong gear! No matter how much you press on the gas, you're just not getting the energy and power you need, where you need it and when you need it. This is because our brains have not evolved at the same rate as the demands of our environment.
The applications of Neuroscience and the power of the brain opens new doors and pathways, and provides new principles and tools, that generate a new level of energy, optimism and resiliency in the face of turbulence, dramatic change and instability. People need new skills to be effective today and neuroscience builds a new foundation for success.
